Why Sudden Change In The Hulu Look On Your Roku Streaming Player?

For your information, we would like to share that Hulu has recently updated the interface on all the streaming players with the view to provide the better services and features to the customers. So, if you have recently installed Hulu on any of your Roku players, then you will find a sudden change in the Hulu look during a software upgrade. This is normal and there is nothing to worry about.

Let’s discuss in details about this. Unfortunately, there are some models which do not support the new Hulu interface due to lack of hardware configurations. If you want to know whether your device supports the new Hulu interface or not, then you can either visit Hulu.com/support or call at Hulu support number. A list of models that support Hulu interface will be displayed on the screen.

What is required to subscribe to Hulu live TV?

Once you subscribe to a normal plan of Hulu, you will be able to watch live TV channels on Hulu. If you are new to Hulu and not added the channel yet in your Roku device, then add it with the help of Roku remote. Read on-screen instructions and follow them accordingly. You will be able to launch the channel after this. There are no loopholes as such. If you have already subscribed to the Hulu channel and want to upgrade to Live TV, then first change the billing method for a Hulu account. For this, you need to go through the below mentioned steps.

  1. Open Hulu and click to open your profile.
  2. Go to ‘User menu’ from the top ribbon menus
  3. Scroll down and select your account from the list.

You will find the option named ‘Enhance my billing’. Click on it to change the billing method on your Roku device for Hulu channel. This is mandatory for Hulu live TV streaming. After changing the billing method, read on-screen instructions and follow them accordingly.

  1. After making changes to the billing cycle, you are required to go through the plan. If you want, you can change it to a premium one.

Which Roku models support new Hulu interface with the Live TV?

The list of Roku devices that support Hulu new interface is given below. If your device is not on the list, then you can confirm from the technical support team. If they said no, then you can continue watching your favorite from the classic interface.

  • Roku TV.
  • Roku streaming stick.
  • Roku Express+.
  • Roku Express.
  • Premiere.
  • Premiere plus.
  • Roku ultra, Roku 3 and 4.

Apart from the models mentioned above, your device must be running Roku OS 7.7.0 or higher to access new Hulu. To check the currently running software in your Roku, you can open the settings of your Roku through Roku remote. Under settings, you will have to click on ‘System’. Here you need to go to the ‘About’ option. All the details related to the OS version, kernel and IP address of your Roku will be displayed on the screen. If an update is available for your device, you can click on ‘Update’. The update will configure automatically once downloaded from the internet.

This is how you can change the interfacing of your Hulu channel. If your device doesn’t support new interface, you can either contact Roku support or change your upgrade your Roku box.
