How To Troubleshoot Netflix Error M7053-1807 And M7702-1003 In Chrome

Netflix even accessed through the browser by the PC, may have an error. To facilitate the identification and correction of common errors, the service displays a message with the error code. Among these possible bugs, which uses the code M7053-1807, can be very annoying and even force the user to use another browser.

The bug indicates that some Chrome information needs to be updated. The M7053-1807 fault can be resolved only by closing the browser or restarting the system and attempting to access Netflix again. In more extreme cases, you’ll need to reset your Chrome settings.

Step 1. When the error appears, open Google Chrome.

Step 2. Access Chrome Settings. To do this, type chrome: settings in the address field and hit enter. If you prefer, click the menu button in the upper right corner of the window and select “Settings”.

Step 2. When the settings panel appears, scroll down the page and click the “Show advanced settings” link.

Step 3. Next, click the “Reset Settings” button.

Step 4. Before starting to reset Chrome settings, the browser will ask if you really want to do this. To confirm, click the “Reset” button.

Fixing Netflix error M7702-1003 in Chrome

Netflix error M7002-1003 occurs in Chrome when there is a failure to use a Google browser component, which prevents the playback of movies and series in the streaming service. When the problem occurs, the user can usually navigate to the online catalog but notes a warning when trying to play on any content using the browser through the desktop. Fortunately, the setback can be solved in three different ways, depending on the original cause. Here’s how to solve it.

1) Enable and update the WidevineCdm component

Step 1. Open a new tab in Google Chrome and type “chrome: // components” (without quotation marks) in the address bar;

Step 2. Look for the item “WidevineCdm” and click on “Check updates”;

Step 3. Enter “chrome: // restart” (without quotation marks) in the address bar to restart Chrome and try playing the Netflix video again.

2) Delete the WidevineCdm folder from the computer

If you have a defective version of the WidevineCdm component, the simplest way to fix it is to delete it from the system and download everything again from Chrome. To do this, you need to delete your computer folder:

On Windows

Step 1. Open Windows Explorer and paste the following path in the address bar, replacing “USER” with your username registered on the computer:

C: \Users\USER\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data

Step 2. Delete the WidevineCDM folder and empty the trash.

Step 3. Refresh the previous steps to update the WidevineCdm component of Chrome.

On Mac

Step 1. Access the “Go” menu of the Finder and select “Go to folder”.

Step 2. In the highlighted field, paste the address below before clicking “Go/Library/Application Support/Google /Chrome.

Step 3. Locate the WidevineCDM folder and remove it. Then empty the trash.

Step 4. Retrace the systematic update of the WidevineCdm component inside Chrome to resolve the issue.

3) Check for anti-virus interference

If even after these measures Netflix persists in accusing the M7702-1003 error, chances are that your antivirus is the culprit. To test, disable protection shortly and try playing a video from Netflix on Chrome. If the error doesn’t solve, then you should get in touch with experts.
